Yesterday was a cool, rainy day and I’ve been healing from my Gall Bladder surgery. And you know what it’s like when you start to heal, at least for me, I want to make changes, finish uncompleted or neglected tasks. And our refrigerator was in need of a heavy cleaning and an “overhall”.
So I enlisted my hubbie’s help – he’s great like that when the weather is too icky to go fishing on the Bay – and we drove into a deep clean and re-organization of our frig. So deep I even had to get out the manual (do you know where your’s is?) to find out how ot take some pieces apart. You can see I was bound and determined to have a VERY clean frig.
I actually started at the bottom this time, with the crisper drawers for fruit and veggies (how does “icky” water get under those drawers???) and then we worked our way up. Leaving everthing out until ever shelf, drawer and door units were sparkling!
We investigated items we thought might have lived “too long” way in the back or on the door. MMMMmmmm – some sour cream that was starting to turn, a jar of olives that just didn’t smell right and a few forgotten veggies in the back of the drawer.
You might be saying – you – Janet – an organizer. And as I always tell others, I’m a human just like you and besides, neat, clean and orgainzed are different “animals”. And HEY I’ve been down and out for two weeks from surgery!
With the clean shelves and drawers back into place I layed out paper towels under the drawers, in the drawers, and on the shelves. I thought, “Easier to wipe up and replace them then to ‘tear’ the frig apart for cleaning.
Now everything is back in it’s place, nice and organized. It even seems brighter in there!
And then we went grocery shopping…..
